Not a moo point after all

We should have known better than to suggest, as we did in the previous posting on this page, that the legislature and the governor would agree on something.   We incorrectly assumed that the legislature had solved the question of who would succeed the Lieutenant Governor if that person should resign, die, ascend to the governorship, or be pitched out of office through impeachment and removal or through criminal conviction.

We made the mistake of leaving the state for three days (for a heckuv an adventure that we’ll write about later) thinking that Governor Nixon’s veto pen had run out of ink.  Turns out it hadn’t.  He vetoed the legislature’s proposed solution to the Lite Guv’s vacancy issue.

Maybe the cows don’t care but the Governor apparently does.  Looks as if the next mooove is up to the legislature.
