Taking a precious right from others

Let’s see if we understand Proposition A, the earnings tax proposal.

Proponents of it want voters in, say, Kennett to decide that voters in, say, Maryville would never have a chance to decide if they want to impose an earnings tax on themselves.

Proponents want people in Kansas City to decide if they want to keep the tax on those who work in Kansas City and want to let voters in St. Louis to decide if they want to keep an earnings tax on the people who work in St. Louis.

But they want people in other towns to deny you the right to vote on whether your town should have one.
