Got a note today from our correspondent in Gallup, New Mexico that the Missouri couple charged with kidnapping the Miller County boy and leaving him in their abandoned car a week ago today might not be in court early this week as originally thought.

Correspondent John McBreen says he had talked with the Chief Deputy District Attorney for McKinley County, NM who told him McKinley County has not yet asked the couple to be returned from Phoenix, where they were caught. The DA seems to have something of more immediate local interest to deal with—-the Mayor of Gallup has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge for hitting the publisher of the local newspaper.
